Feels Like Spring

What a odd winter its been.   Snippets of incredible winds and cold (and occasionally snow) interspersed the amazingly warm weather we've had most of the winter here on Long Beach Island.  Walking on the beach is always a very enjoyable pastime  but during February it is normally a tough task indeed.   However this year people have been able to enjoy the winter beachscape with little trouble.

I'm not sure if its because of the unseasonably warm weather but when it has been cold, it has felt like Siberia.  The winds have been fierce, howling off the water , ready to freeze a person's exposed skin swiftly.

This all adds up to that it is already feeling like Spring here at the shore.  People are down in larger numbers than usual, sneaking in a weekend to enjoy the winter beach and the island.  Soon spring will be here in full force, with the summer season hot on its heels!
