March Madness is ready to roll
Or should I say bounce. It’s that time of year again, time for the NCAA basketball tournament. There are both men’s and women’s competitions but the men’s usually gets the most headlines. If you are a fan of basketball, you know the women’s games can be just as exciting. I must tell you that I do not follow the regular season but enjoy the tournament. There’s always the hope of a “Cinderella” team upsetting the field and winning it all. Rarely does that happen, as it’s tough to win seven straight games. But there are the first and second round games where the underdog beats one of the big boys.
This year, in the men’s bracket, the top four seeds are:Louisville,Gonzaga,Kansas&Indiana. Gonzaga was once one of those teams that were a giant beater, now they’ve risen to the top of the charts. In the women’s bracket, the top four teams are: Baylor, Stanford, Notre Dame & Connecticut. The Baylor team includes Brittney Griner who is able to dunk the basketball, while common in men’s play it’s quite unusual on the women’s side. The odds of picking a perfect bracket are astrological but it’s a fun practice. Usually a badge of pride in the work place, even President Obama gets in on the action. Well get ready to settle into your favorite chair, get the snacks ready and be prepared for some nail biting, buzzer beating or blow out basketball. March Madness is upon us once again.
